Should I foster a dog?
At Nykol’s rescuses we love our fosters. It helps open space in the shelter so we can save more dogs.
Fostering a homeless dog means you will give him or her love, care, and attention; either for a predetermined period of time or until the dog is adopted. The rescue provides you the food, supplies, and medical treatments if necessary – everything you need for a dog – you just take care of him until he is adopted!
So you get to save a dog, have a furry companion, and help our shelter at no cost to you!
If you’re unable to adopt or unsure about the long term commitment, fostering a dog is the next best experience. By taking an animal in need temporarily into your home you’re:
- freeing up a spot in the shelter so the rescue can take in another dog
- helping us learn more about the dog so he can end up in the best home possible
- socializing the dog to a home environment and possibly getting him used to being around other pets and different types of people for the best adoption success story
